The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) will showcase Philippine export products from 19 FOODPhilippines exhibitors among global food innovators and industry leaders at SIAL Paris 2024, the biennial trade show marking its 60th year this October 19-23, 2024.
The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) is leading the FOODPhilippines contingent to the diamond jubilee of the Salon International de l'Alimentation (SIAL) Paris, one of the world’s largest trade shows for the food and hospitality sectors, happening at Paris Nord Villepinte, France this coming October 19-23, 2024.
A biennial event, SIAL Paris brings together industry players, the latest innovations, and market opportunities from across the globe under one roof. CITEM endeavors to further grow the country’s export presence in more foreign markets with its delegation of Philippine exhibitors fitting the framework of current and emerging market demands.
CITEM, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office 5 and DTI Regions 5 and 2, and in close coordination with DTI’s Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Paris, is bringing a total of 19 FOODPhilippines exhibitors, namely: CaLe88 Foods Corporation; C.O.P. Pili Sweets and Pastries; Fisher Farms, Incorporated; GSL Premium Food Export Corporation; Hijo Superfood; Hi-Las Marketing Corporation; Lionheart Farms; Mama Sita’s; One Vizcaya Export Corporation; OneAsia Trader; Phenomenon Group Inc.; Pili Crush Food Enterprises; Profood International Corporation; Quirino Young Entrepreneurs Association; Sabroso Chocolate Manufacturing; See’s International Food Mfg. Corp.; Soyuz Foods International Inc.; Super Q; and The Rains Delicacies.
The country’s exhibitors carry with them food products, ingredients, and practices reflective of Philippine flavors and culture while seamlessly adapting to today’s call for innovation and circular sustainability in their offerings and processes. All this fits with the SIAL Paris 2024 theme of “Own the change,” whereby trade show participants and visitors can also learn more about the challenges facing the state of global food while discovering the latest trends and industry outlooks.
The FOODPhilippines exhibitors will be showcasing at the Philippine Pavilion, Hall 4 K190 of Parc des Expositions Paris Nord Villepinte in France during the five-day event.
B2B activities on track in Europe
Keeping the Philippine participation momentum after SIAL Paris 2024, CITEM will proceed to neighboring Belgium and the Netherlands for its Outbound Business Mission (OBM) on October 24 and 25, 2024, respectively. For this leg, nine exhibitors will engage in various B2B activities that have been organized this time with PTIC–Brussels.
From industry talks to networking opportunities, majority of the participating exhibitors are proponents of the Philippine Pili nut, sustainably sourcing and developing it to various food and wellness applications. Recent developments in regulation of allowable food in European Union (EU) markets reincluded dried pili nuts. Through European Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/267 issued in February 2023, pili producers and exporters can now seize more foreign market opportunities, consequently contributing to industry growth and development capabilities for the Philippine agri sector.
Fitting the global demand for healthier nutrition and natural wellness is the Philippine Pili nut, majority of which is grown in the Bicol Region.
The following exhibitors will take part in the OBM: B&B Cosmetics & Hygiene Solutions, Inc.; C.O.P. Pili Sweets and Pastries; Hijo Superfoods; Isarog Beauty Botanics; Organic Pili Philippines; Phenomenon Group Inc.; Pili Crush Food Enterprises; Sabroso Chocolate Manufacturing; and The Rains Delicacies.
Most of them are based in the Bicol Region, which remains the top pili producer in the country, contributing more than 80 per cent in terms of total production volume in 2021.
